Top 5: Summer Movies
June 4, 2010 by admin

The summer means that students have more free time without all of the homework and the need to wake up early in the morning to rush to school. Kids can choose how to spend this extra time, but one way to pass the time is to go to the movie theater. Lots of good movies are released during the summertime. To catch a flick, it costs about $10 these days. This is kind of expensive, so I am going to save you the time and effort and give the top five movies of the summer.
5. The Karate Kid
Release Date: June 11, 2010
Reason to see: This is the remake of the very popular 1980’s version. I am not that confident that it will be better than the one in 1980’s, but The Karate Kid is definitely worth watching to see how it stacks up against the original. It is similar to the original, but also different because it takes place in China and the main character is named Dre (not Daniel). Jackie Chan plays the karate master Mr. Han, and it is always worthwhile to watch Jackie Chan in karate movies.
4. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Release Date: June 30, 2010
Reason to see: I am not a big fan of the Twilight series, but I know a lot of people are and that’s why it is included in the top 5 movies to see. This is arguably the most popular series around and it is all about vampires. This is the third movie in the series and should be a hit in the box office. Kristen Stewart, Rob Patterson, and Taylor Lautner will return to play Bella, Edward, and Jacob.
3. Grown-ups
Release Date: June 25, 2010
Reason to see: This cast is loaded with stars, so it has the potential to be very successful. Adam Sandler, Salma Hayek, Chris Rock, Rob Schneider and Kevin James are all featured in this movie about five friends who are reunited after the death of their high school basketball coach. This is obviously a comedy with stars like James, Rock, Schneider, and Sandler, but it looks like a hit-or-miss movie.
2. The A-Team
Release Date: June 11, 2010
Reason to see: This has the potential to be the best action-thriller of the summer. Liam Neeson leads a group of war veterans who are trying to convince the military that they were framed for a crime. This movie is based on an action-adventure television series in the 1980’s. This show had a similar plot to the movie, except the veterans fought in Vietnam, not Iraq. This should be a hit with fans of all ages.
1. The Other Guys
Release Date: August 6, 2010
Reason to see: Will Ferrell stars in what is supposed to be the best comedy of the summer. Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg are two cops who want to be the top cops in the city, though it doesn’t go the way they planned. This movie is supposed to be more on the terms of Anchorman rather than Land of The Lost for Will Ferrell. This should be the one movie that everyone should see this summer.
Bulls await hectic Summer of Lebron

Only one more month to go until the long anticipated free agent signing period begins. This will be the biggest sports story of the summer because of the numerous elite players available in the free agent pool. The most talked about is obviously Lebron James. Questions about where James will go after the 2010 season have been being asked for the past two years. The most talked about teams for James include the Bulls, the New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and Miami Heat along with the option of resigning with the Cavaliers.
Reports have surfaced that the Bulls is one team that James is looking at really hard. He would love to play in a big market like Chicago, but it is intriguing that he would consider playing in the shadow of Michael Jordan. It was assumed that James would not want to play in the shadow of Jordan in Chicago, but recently he says that he is interested.
Where James goes will dictate where the other major free agents go. Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade, Joe Johnson, and Amare Stoudemire are a few other players who have the option to sign with another team after July 1. Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki may also become a free agent or be used as trade bait for Lebron James, if the Cavaliers decide to do a sign and trade.
There is a possibility that one team can get two of these free agents, and that team will immediately become a championship contender. Any team that adds James and Bosh or James and Wade will become the frontrunner for the 2011 NBA Championship. The possibility of Wade and James, arguably the two of the three best players in the NBA, on the same team is just scary. The aforementioned Knicks and Bulls are two teams that have enough cap space to land two max-salary free agents.
Though the Bulls have the room to land two of the big available free agents, it does not necessarily mean that they will. They have to worry about getting one first, especially after Dwyane Wade told reporters and other free agents that the Bulls aren’t loyal to their players. Hopefully, this doesn’t sway others like James away from the Bulls.
Teams can be begin to sign free agents starting on July 1st. All NBA fans will be watching to see where James and others will go. Bull’s fans especially will be watching because they realize that the Bulls control their playoff destiny this summer.
World of excitement

There is another event that comes every four years taking place this year besides the Olympics. To some countries, this is even more important than the Olympics. This event is the World Cup and will take place in a new venue: South Africa.
It begins on June 11 with South Africa vs. Mexico and the first round play continues through June 25. After the first round concludes, 16 teams advance from eight groups to the next round of play, which is a single-elimination bracket. The champion of the World Cup will be crowned July 11.
The last World Cup was four years ago and came with plenty of excitement. The championship featured Italy and France, two teams with soccer-crazed fans. The game was tied when extra time was added and France’s star player, Zinedine Zadane, began to get frustrated.
Zadane let his emotions get the best of him in this tight game and head butted Italian midfielder Marco Materazzi. Zidane was given a red card and gave the Italians a one man advantage. The game went to penalty kicks where Italy easily disposed of France with the newfound confidence given by Zidane getting ejected. The 2010 championship game will have a hard time living up to this instant classic.
The US team was very successful last summer when they had to qualify for the World Cup. USA was in the 2009 Confederations Cup, where it took on world powers Brazil and Spain. The US showed that it could hang with the best teams in the world as they defeated Spain and lost to Brazil in the championship in a hard fought game.
The USA squad is ready to make a run in the World Cup and they begin in Group C along with England, Slovenia, and Algeria. The US will have their hands full with the English national team, but most are predicting them to finish second and advance to the round of 16. Many analysts believe that if the US doesn’t get out of its group, the World Cup will be considered a failure.
There are many teams that are capable of winning the World Cup. The obvious favorites are Spain, Brazil, and Argentina. Argentina has arguably the best player in the world in forward Lionel Messi, who is picked by many to win the Golden Ball, which is awarded to the best player in the tournament. Other contenders are England and Germany. England has another player who is among the world’s best: Wayne Rooney.
The US is a dark-horse in the tournament if they play like they did last summer. If they can do this, the US has a chance to surprise world powers again.
Though soccer is not as popular in the US, it is the most popular sport around the world without any doubt. People from all counties will flock to South Africa to take part in this grand event. Every game will contain crazy fans who care about their country so much. People in the US should recognize this great event and just watch a few games to see how important and crazy the World Cup really is.
Bulls down 2-0 after sneaking into playoffs

The Chicago Bulls were able to win their last two games of the season to edge into the playoffs. They sneaked past two playoff teams – the Bobcats and Celtics – to ensure the eighth and final playoff spot. The Toronto Raptors were left out of the playoffs by one game. The spot both teams were fighting for seems to be who would lose in the first round of the playoffs.
The Bulls face the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round, led by probable MVP Lebron James. James was the MVP a year ago and will likely make it two years in a row unless Kevin Durant somehow edges him out. The Cavaliers cruised through the regular season and finished with the beast overall record in the NBA at 61-21. They could even afford to rest Lebron James the last four games of the regular season.
Unfortunately for the Bulls in Game 1, Lebron was not rusty at all. He finished with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. The Cavaliers cruised to a 15 point lead at the half. The Bulls came out in the second and outscored the Cavaliers by two points in the third quarter and managed to cut the Cavaliers lead to 7 point with about four minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Derrick Rose led the comeback as he finished with 28 points and 10 assists. But in the end, it was too much James and point guard Mo Williams. James converted a three point play and Mo Williams (19 points) hit a three pointer which sealed the Bulls fate in Game 1. The Cavs ended up winning 96-83.
The Bulls had to play again in Cleveland on Monday night. This time the Bulls seemed more prepared in the first half than they did in game one. Instead of trailing by double digits, the Bulls found themselves down by just two points at the half, and were tied with the top-seeded Cavaliers after three quarters. The reason for this was the improved play of Bulls center Joakim Noah. After Shaquille O’Neal pushed him around in game 1, Noah was able to find his offense and defense and finished with 25 points and 13 rebounds.
The fourth quarter was a different than the first three quarters for the Bulls. They trailed 96-93 with about four minutes left before the best player in the NBA took over. Lebron James went on to score the next 11 points for the Cavaliers which included a long three pointer. James finished with 40 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists while shooting an efficient 70% from the field. The Cavaliers outscored the Bulls by 10 points in the fourth quarter to take Game 2 by a score of 112-102.
The series heads to Chicago for games three and four. Though the Bulls have home-court advantage, the Cavaliers had the second best road record in the regular season. The Bulls need to play perfect basketball in order to defeat the Cavaliers because game 2 was close and the Bulls played about as good as they are capable. If the Bulls can manage to win one or two games in this series, it should be considered a success.

Top 5 Summer School Courses to take:
This is an overview of five classes that students should take advantage of during their summer break. Some classes are required to take and others are just fun and a good experience. Here are the top five classes that students at RBHS should take during the three month summer break.
5. Health:
When: June 21- July 13, Monday- Friday
Who: Sophomores
All sophomores are required to take this class, which lasts a half-semester if taken during the school year. The benefit of taking this class during the summer is that it opens up a slot during the school year which can be used for a study hall or an elective. This can really help a sophomore who is taking a rigorous schedule and needs a study hall. Health is typically a fairly easy class, so not a lot of homework is given during the summer.
4. Summer Television Workshop
When: June 21-25
Who: Incoming Freshman
This is a fun class for incoming freshman who are interested in television and being involved in RBTV. The class gives lots of hands-on learning experience to these students who want to know what it is like to work in TV. This is a fun class, and is a must for any student that wants to work in RBTV and wants to know about this technology. It is only a one week class, so it is not very time consuming.
3. Workshop Courses (Photography, Ceramics, Mural or Theatre)
When: Classes vary between June and July, either for one or two weeks
Who: Any high school student
These courses are fun introductions to the class that can be taken in high school. These classes are not for credits like health is, but are still good experiences. If students really like these workshops, they can continue to take them in high school. Photography and ceramics are very popular at RB, so these classes might fill up fast. These are classes that could lead to a career in those fields. They cost $30-$50, so they are not that expensive.
2. Camp College
When: June 16, 17 and 18
Who: Incoming seniors
Camp College will help and seniors that need information or are just unsure of the college process as a whole. It will also help students decide which type of college is right for them and how to deal with applications to colleges. This is not a required class or necessarily a fun class, but it will help with the senior process. Researching colleges, ACT/SAT help, and “Make the college match” are all parts of Camp College. Mrs. Hubbuch is the instructor for the course.
1. Fine Arts Survey
When: June 21-July 13
Who: Any RB student
Like Health, Fine Arts Survey is a required course for every student at RB. It teaches each of the four Fine Arts classes: art, dance, music, and drama. This can be a fun class if you like one or more of the following fine arts. It is something that every student has to do, but taking this course during the summer can be very beneficial. A study hall can be taken its place or an extra course that you need to take to graduate. The cost of this course is $150 plus a $25 lab fee, but it will help for the future.
Wait until next year, St. Baldrick’s

It is the time of year when students are usually packed into the auditorium for an annual hair-shaving experience. For the past two years, Riverside-Brookfield High School has participated in the worldwide event called St. Baldrick’s Day, which supports cancer research.
This year, RB has chosen not to be a part of this event; there is a reason why RB has decided not to participate, though. It is the financial aspect of St. Baldrick’s. Not only does the school need money to hold the event, but it’s taxing to hold such an event every year.
“It wouldn’t have as much steam if they did it every year,” said Math Department Chair Doug Schultz, who has participated both years. “They decided to go every other year because of the time it takes to put together.” Schultz has played a big part in each St. Baldrick’s day festivities because he has a special reason. “I have been a part of [St. Baldrick’s Day] each year because my niece passed away from cancer.”
Many of the shavees have special reasons for participating. Many people have loved ones who have been affected by cancer and they want to do their part. Last year on March 13th the entire gym was packed for the event as many kids and teachers had their heads shaved. Both boys and girls were there to donate their hair to the cause.
Even some of the construction workers participated; the head of the construction company, Andy Totten, got his head shaved by Schultz. The shavers did a good job, though some kids did have to get it reshaped a little afterwards. These kids went to the seemingly ubiquitous Schultz to finish the job.
This fundraiser is not just an RB event. On St. Baldrick’s Day, schools all over the globe shave their heads to represent kids that have to lose their hair through the cancer process. In addition to this, they raise money for cancer research. All 50 states have done St. Baldrick’s Day as well as 24 countries.
St. Baldrick’s began in 1999 in New York City and has grown from just one event to thousands. Over $60 million has been raised during the decade that the St. Baldrick’s Foundation has been around. It has also received a lot of publicity at the national scale as stars such as Jay Leno and Jackie Chan have shaved their heads for cancer research.
This year, RB has decided to go for Locks of Love rather than St. Baldrick’s Day. It is going to be a small event, where students can donate hair if they want. The hair will be made into wigs for cancer patients.
The gym will not be packed this March to watch students get their hair cut, but next year, the festivities will continue in a strong fashion. And you can bet that the gym will be packed and the money will be flowing to cancer research.
Verdict: Summer Olympics still better

With the conclusion of the Winter Olympics, it is kind of sad that the nonstop action has finally come to an end. No longer can I turn on NBC and know that there is going to be some sort of winter contest on. One question that is always asked about the Olympics is which games are better: the Winter or Summer Olympics? Though I do like both, I think the summer games are far more exciting and fun to watch.
Both the summer and winter games have their fair share of exciting, heart-pounding sports. The summer games has the 100m dash, while the short track speed skating competition is always crazy in the winter Olympics.
These two sports aren’t without characters to root for either. Though he was not born in the US, Usain Bolt is a fan favorite in the 100m dash, not only in native-Jamaica, but all over the world including the US. In the 2008 Olympics, he smashed records in that event as well as in the 200m.
Speed skating has American Apollo Ohno, who just recently captured his 6th, 7th, and 8th Olympic medals in Vancouver. Speed skating is a sport where anything can happen as Ohno is well aware. He was in fourth going into the final turn of the men’s 1500 meter finals when two Koreans wiped out and he took the silver.
Speed skating is exciting, but I still prefer watching the fastest men in the world compete against each other for just under 10 seconds. This isn’t the only sport where I hold preference for the Summer to the Winter Olympics. Figure skating is boring and overplayed, which is a terrible combination. The male figure skating is ten times worse than the females just because of the terrible outfits that the men wear. I don’t think anybody enjoys these men in the outfits, but I could be wrong. I doubt it though.
The odd sports in the Winter Olympics are pretty interesting, but they can get old fast. Curling was cool a couple Olympics ago, but now I think they go on for too long. The games take forever and there are no household names to draw viewers. The same goes with skeleton and luge, though they are exciting sports nonetheless. The problem is that they are never shown on NBC at good times. One o’clock in the morning is not a good time to watch skeleton.
In the summer games, beach volleyball is the equivalent to figure skating in terms of being overplayed, but I would still much rather watch volleyball. The swimming is also very exciting in the summer games. Sure, part of this is because Michael Phelps is swimming, but the same can be said for snowboarding with Shaun White. Both sports are great to watch, but are made even better with these icons.
On Sunday, February 28th, the hockey gold medal game was played in Vancouver. This is one thing that I agree is amazing in the Winter Olympics. The United States hung with the gold medal favorite Canadians, and gave them all they could handle for three periods and overtime. The Canadians outlasted the US team 3-2 in a game that kept all fans on the edge of their seats. Basketball does not bring this type of excitement in the summer games, just because the US is heads above every other country at the sport it seems.
Overall, though, the summer games are much more fun to me. They rarely lag like the winter Olympics do. So in 2012, when the summer games come to London, I will be much more excited for the games. It’s too bad that the 2016 Olympics are not in Chicago.
Super Bowl: Three up, three down, three in between

The Super Bowl experience: Three up, three down, three in between
Three Up:
The Saints: This is an obvious one, but still a good one. The Colts were favored by 5.5 and nearly every expert on Espn predicted that they would win. The Saints recovered an onside that to start the second half and that completely changed the game. After a Jeremy Shockey touchdown gave the Saints the lead, Tracy Porter picked off Peyton Manning to seal the game.
The offensive lines: It’s about time both offensive lines got some love after the Super Bowl. Brees and Manning were seemingly untouched except for a Dwight Freeney sack on Brees early in the first quarter. Other than that, both quarterbacks were able to sit back in the pocket. The Colts O-line also allowed their running backs to average 5.2 yards per carry.
Sean Payton: After the game, the Saints coach is being called a genius for his role in the Super bowl win. Payton called for the surprise onside kick to start the second half. He was lucky as the Saints recovered and completely changed the momentum in the game. If the Saints didn’t recover we’d probably be calling him things other than a genius right now.
Three Down:
Commercials: Every year it seems there are a few commercials that stick out as the funniest of the year. This year is an exception because no commercials stick out to me as hysterical. Sure, the Bud Lights were decent, but there were a lot more busts. A few commercials that went too far were the talking babies (which got old fast) and Charles Barkley’s Taco Bell commercial.
Tony Dungy: Ex-Colts coach Tony Dungy still has a lot of confidence in his former team, but maybe a little too much. Before the game, he told the New York Times, “I think they’re going to be so far ahead that people are going to say, ‘Oh, ho-hum, (Peyton Manning) played a good game, they won by two scores, the Colts won their second championship’”. Too bad the Saints won by two scores.
Reggie Bush: The Saints only star that did not have a really good game. He had just 25 yards rushing and 38 yards receiving in the game. Bush also only returned one punt for four yards. He did do well earlier in the playoffs against the Cardinals and Vikings.
Three In Between:
Peyton Manning: The Colts quarterback was not as good as expected, but was not bad. He was 31/45 for 333 yards and one touchdown and an interception. The interception was the biggest of his career as it effectively ended the Colts chances of another Super Bowl, but it is ridiculous to judge his legacy by one pas. His rating of 88.5 was just average.
The Who: They played as good as what can be expected from 65-year old men, but that does not mean they were very good. The Who sounded a little off-key, but they are old and cannot be expected to play like they did when they were 30. The songs they played were good, but the execution was not.
Colts and Saints offenses: Neither offense was as good as advertised in this battle of two All-Pro quarterbacks. It wasn’t a defense struggle, but certainly not a shoot-out. The final score was 31-17, and one of the Saints’ touchdowns was a defensive score. Predictions had the two teams combining for at least 65 points, so 48 points was a bit of a letdown.
Bull Run

After drafting Derrick Rose first overall in the 2008 draft, there was no question whether or not he would be able to get to the basket in the NBA and finish. There were concerns though, that he would not be able to develop a jump shot in the NBA. Recently, those concerned fans have been silenced as the Bulls have been winning and Rose has been hitting from the outside.
The Bulls began their seven-game western road trip poorly. They lost to the Warriors and Clippers, two mediocre teams in the Western Conference. Bulls fans were worried that this could turn into an 0-7 trip, as the Bulls have to face five playoff contenders in a row to finish off the trip. Instead, the Bulls beat the Suns 115-104, and Rose led the Bulls with 32 points. More importantly, most of his points came from the outside. 17 of his 32 points came from beyond 15 feet and he made 8-12 shots from that range.
But Rose and the Bulls didn’t stop there. They traveled to Houston the next day and overcame a fourth quarter deficit to beat the Rockets. They then handed the Spurs a loss two days later on January 25th. Rose had 27 points in that game despite playing with the flu. Once again, he was hitting jump shots, making him a threat all over the court, rather than just in the paint.
Then the Bulls traveled to Oklahoma City to take on a good Thunder team on Wednesday. They continued their winning ways and Rose continued his hot streak Rose had 26 points and six assists to lead the Bulls to a ten point win and bring their record back to .500. Most impressive, though, is that the bulls have put together this nice streak away from the United Center. The Bulls started the season just 4-15 on the road, but have since improved that to 8-15.
The Bulls finish up the road trip Friday, January 29th against the New Orleans Hornets. In order to win, Rose must keep playing efficiently. During the win streak, he has shot over 50% from the field in each game. He has also turned the ball over just seven times while handing out 22 assists over the past four games. Other players have performed as well. Despite being hurt, Noah has contributed a lot including a gutsy performance against the Spurs, where he scored the final five points of the game. Rookie Taj Gibson has picked up the rebounding while Noah has been playing hurt, averaging over ten rebounds per game during that span.
Derrick Rose also did something that has not been done since Michael Jordan was on the Bulls. That is to be announced to the Eastern Conference All-Star roster. Rose was selected as an All-Star reserve Thursday, marking the first time a Bull has made the team since Jordan did it in 1998. Last year Rose competed in the Rookie challenge and the skills competition during All-Star weekend, but not the all-star game.
Right now the Bulls stand tied for seventh in the Eastern Conference standings. They are just 1.5 games out of fifth place, and if they keep playing like they have, that is a great possibility. To continue their streak they need to stick to the formula: win on the road and a whole lot of Rose.
NFL playoffs prediction: Colts win again
January 8, 2010 by morrisseyc
The start of 2010 means New Year’s resolutions and a fresh start for everybody. For us sports fans it means the NFL playoffs and the road to the Super Bowl. It also is time for each fan to give predictions for the Playoffs. Here is my insight.
Wildcard Round
Game: New York Jets at Cincinnati Bengals: Bengals 27, Jets 13
Spin: In my opinion, this is the easiest game to predict in the playoffs. Rookie quarterbacks typically don’t fare well in the playoffs, especially one with 12 touchdowns and 20 interceptions like March Sanchez. The Bengals defense will force Sanchez into at least three interceptions.
Game: Baltimore Ravens at New England Patriots: Patriots 24, Ravens 17
Spin: The Patriots are banged up going into this matchup, though I still think they will win. Tom Brady has had numerous small injuries throughout the year, but the loss of Wes Welker is the biggest blow to the Patriots. The Ravens need a big game from their defense and Pro-Bowl running back Ray Rice to win, but I think they will come up short.
Game: Green Bay Packers at Arizona Cardinals: Packers 35, Cardinals 24
Spin: The Packers are hot, winning seven of their last eight to finish the season, including a 33-7 win against the Cardinals in week 17. Both teams flaunt high scoring offenses. The Packers are led by Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver; the Cardinals have Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald. The Packers solid defense, led a secondary featuring Charles Woodson and Nick Collins, will make the difference.
Game: Philadelphia Eagles at Dallas Cowboys: Eagles 30, Cowboys 27
Spin: What’s the old saying? Can’t beat a team three times in a season? I think this is the case for the Eagles who have lost twice to the Cowboys this year. Quarterback Donovan McNabb has lots of playoff experience, and he should have a good game. Tony Romo will struggle in the playoffs again for the Cowboys sending Dallas fans into hysteria.
Divisional Playoff Round:
Game: Cincinnati Bengals at San Diego Chargers: Chargers 31, Bengals 13
Spin: If you thought that the Packers were hot, then the Chargers are something else. They’ve won their last eleven games and will continue that streak. The Bengals defense won’t have as much success against Philip Rivers and the Bengals offense will struggle as well.
Game: New England Patriots at Indianapolis Colts: Colts 35, Patriots 34
Spin: How many times will we see Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady in the playoffs? Well, at least one more as Brady and co. will travel to the dome in Indianapolis to take on the Colts. This game will be a shootout as neither team has a great defense. The winner of this game typically wins the Super Bowl; I like the Colts.
Game: Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings: Vikings 31, Packers 27
Spin: Vikings vs. Packers round 3. Remember the old rule that you can’t beat a team three times in a year? Disregard that for this game as I like the Favres to beat the Packers for the third time this year. Both teams have really good defenses, but the offenses are the story of this game. A late touchdown pass from Favre is the difference for Minnesota.
Game: Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans Saints: Eagles 23, Saints 17
Spin: Many people think the Cowboys are going to take down the Eagles, but I have the Eagles winning two games in the playoffs. The combination of blitzes will have Drew Brees confused and the Eagles will hold the Saints to just 17 points. Out of the top four seeds, the Saints look the weakest as they are losers of three straight.
Conference Championships:
AFC Game: San Diego Chargers at Indianapolis Colts: Colts 38, Chargers 27
Spin: Another shootout in the AFC, but Philips Rivers can’t keep up with Peyton Manning. The Chargers have knocked out the Colts the past two years, but not this year. The Colts are no longer unbeaten, but they have their players healthy. Neither team can run very well, so the quarterback position becomes even more important. Edge: Colts.
NFC Game: Philadelphia Eagles at Minnesota Vikings: Vikings 30, Eagles 17
Spin: The Eagles are trying to repeat what their Pennsylvania friends (the Steelers), have done in the past: win the Super Bowl as a six seed. The Vikings are at home, where the whole team plays better. The Eagles can’t run the football, while the Vikings have Adrian Peterson shoving the ball down their throat. Peterson is the difference as he runs for 150+ yards.
Super Bowl XLIV
Game: Minnesota vs. Indianapolis Colts (in Miami): Colts 34, Vikings 28
Spin: Brett Favre decided to come back for another year and it was a good decision. He made it to the Super Bowl, but will come up short. Favre throws for three touchdowns in his final game, but Peyton Manning and the Colts are able to overcome this and win. The Vikings run the ball better than the Colts, but the Vikings can’t cover Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark. Colts win a close won to capture a second Super Bowl in four years.
