Pending election, teachers and board set to enter negotiations

With a ground rules meeting this month, formal contract negotiations are set to start between the RBEA and the D208 school board.  RBEA President Doug Schultz, Superintendent Kevin Skinkis, and Board President Matt Sinde are all slated to participate in the negotiations.

RBEA President Doug Schultz made a public statement on behalf of the teachers union on 9/25 in response to comments by Board Vice President Dr. John Keen that suggested the RBEA was unwilling to help the school achieve financial stability.

Chicago teachers’ strike: could it happen here?

Clarion was there in 1981 when the RB teachers last went on strike.  That strike lasted 10 days.
