This year almost 600 volunteers, including over one third of the student body, were involved. Volunteers contributed work to senior citizens and or others who needed assistance. Workers did window washing, garage clean up and gardening. Others also helped organize and clean the environment by raking leaves and doing garbage clean up.
The work done was all organized and led by the student committee and faculty members. Others who could not make it to the work day donated more than 1200 cans of food for the canned food drive. Donated food went to the greater Chicago Food Depository.
Committee member Steve McCrory said, “It was really cool how everyone worked hard and it was a great way to give back to the community.”
