RDE will be performing in the Giordano Choreography Project at Barrington High School Saturday on January 28. A guest choreographer created their piece, and after weeks of preparation and hard work, they plan on presenting it to other high schools in the area. The ladies dancing are excited and can’t wait for this event.

“I’m very excited because I like to see how all our dances come together on stage, and I love working with everyone,” said senior dancer Maddie Ackerman. She has been in approximately nine shows at RB.

A misconception about dance is the difficulty. RDE is very physically demanding.

“I dance every day of the week,” said Ackerman. Ackerman has been practicing since she was two and has kept up with it ever since.

Kailee Gilhooley is another senior dancer in the show who has been practicing most of her life.

“I’ve been dancing since I was three,” said Gilhooley. She has performed around three shows at RB.

The girls are well prepared before they are on stage.

“I like being on stage and I like dress rehearsals,” said Ackerman.

The girls love presenting their routines during shows.

“I like being able to share my passion with everyone and to be able to dance with my friends,” said Gilhooley.

Although there is so much hard work and dedication, it all pays off in the end with a wonderful dance.
