Yesterday the Dodgers played the Cards and made a dramatic come from behind win in the ninth inning. Rf Andre Ethier of the Dodgers hit a game tieing home-run in the second inning to make it 1-1. The Dodgers where losing to the Cards because of Colbey Rasmus, a rookie CF/2B. Rasmus hit a RBI double in the seventh inning to put the Cardinals up by 1 until the ninth.
The Dodgers had one of the most unexpected wins. They fought back, and Mark Loretta hit the game winning single to score Casey Blake from third. Now the Dodgers are up in the series 2 games to none.
The Boston Red Sox where in LA yesterday playing the Angels. The Angels only offensive weapon last night was veteran CF Tori Hunter who had three RBI’s. Hunter was 2-3, and contributed with a homerun in a 5-0 win over the Red Sox.
The Angels pitchers also had a good day. Starter Jon Lackey of the Angels threw 7 1/3 innings and let up four hits and no runs. Darren Oliver finished the game throwing 1.2 innings and one strikeout.
The Rockies beat the Phillies yesterday with a score of 5-4. Both teams played extremely hard. Each team used six or more pitchers during the game, but in the end the winning pitcher was Rockies starter Aaron Cook who had a fair day of pitching. He threw 5 innings and let up 3 runs, 7 hits, 2 BB and 4 strikeouts. The series is now tied at 1-1.
