On November 1st, the girl’s basketball team had their tryouts for the 2010-2011 seasons. Fifteen girls ended up making the cut. They girls will be practicing until November 17th, which is their first game against Addison Trail.
The team elected seniors Maggie Zeleny and Kelsey Egger as captains. They will lead the team in all their games. The season will officially start November 1.
Junior Caitlin Boxell said, “We are looking forward to the start of the season. I expect us to win because we have a great team this year.”
The next big tournament the lady bulldogs are playing in will be the Turkey Tournament. It is held at RB and the team will play many different schools over the upcoming break. Junior Kiley Rusen said, “I think we’ll do a good job against these schools. We’ve been playing together for a long time now, and we really know how to work well with one another.”
The girls have been playing together since the summer. “We were on a summer league together and did very well. It will definatly help carry over to the regular season,” said Rusen
They will be playing in over thirty games/tournaments throughout the season. The last game will be against Glenbard South on February 2nd.
