AP English Language and Composition

If writing essays and interpreting dozens of texts is your thing, AP English Language and Composition is going to be right up your alley. AP Lang is a fast moving and intensive class that requires a lot of dedication and attention to detail. The 55 minutes you spend in class seem to fly by each day as you are fully focused on the task at hand. Throughout the year, students will have the chance to read and dissect over 30 texts, including multiple novels. The workload can be a little overwhelming at times but if you are ready to put forth the effort, you will be able to succeed. It’s not a secret that this class requires you to do a lot of work on your own time as well. There will always be a very fast turnaround given by your teacher and because this is such a high level class, the Lang teachers are not always very lenient when it comes to turning in assignments late. This class is primarily taken by students in the junior class. Keeping that in mind, the stress of the SAT and other “after high school” plans can start to weigh down on you. Make sure that you’re not “overdoing it” when it comes to making your class selections. Again this class requires a ton of responsibility but if you can manage your time wisely and continually put in your best work, you will do just fine!
