AP Studio Art

If you are someone who enjoys art, whether as a hobby or a class, AP Studio Art is a class you should consider. In this class you will be able to explore and improve upon many different mediums while putting together your portfolio. The class is supervised by Mr. Blair Jensen, who is also the photography teacher here at Riverside Brookfield High School. Mr. Jensen is always there to help you with your creative processes through feedback and advice. Majority of the time you, the student, will be managing yourself while working toward creating pieces for your portfolio. The first half of this portfolio is the “Guiding Question.” Many of you are probably asking, “What is a guiding question?” Well, it works as a theme for part of your portfolio. For example, you may choose to center your works around “flowers and how they can represent different feelings.” The goal is to make up to fifteen pieces relating to your chosen theme, so you could create a piece connecting roses to the idea of love and so forth. The second half of your portfolio is much more simple. All you will be needing to do is submit five of your best works ever made, and this can include pieces you submit in your guiding question half. Overall the workload is nothing too crazy because you set your own deadlines majority of the time. If you are good with time management and enjoy pursuing your artistic endeavors, then AP Studio Art is definitely a class I would recommend.
