Carmen Guerrero
Let me start by saying that high school is not like the movies. In my time at RB, there were lots of ups and downs but they only made me stronger. I constantly asked myself, “Are you doing enough?” and “What are other people thinking?” I strived to be the best version of myself and I think that by the end of this year I accomplished everything I ever hoped for.
With friends and family by my side, I always knew I had a support system with me. I want to say thank you to my amazing mom for being the most supportive, gracious, and beautiful person. Without you by my side I don’t know how I would be here today.
And of course a thank you to the wonderful class that broke me out of my shell. Clarion was a place where I could express whatever I was thinking on a day-to-day basis. It’s the class that made me realize what I want to do with my future and opened my eyes to the amazing skill of writing. I will be forever grateful for this class that felt more like a little bit of a dysfunctional family. I’m so excited to major in journalism at CSU next year and I can’t wait to see what Clarion accomplishes next. I wish everyone the best… Carmen.
