Fitting four rollercoaster years into three hundred words is a difficult task. I can’t find the words to encompass all of the memories I’ve had and all of the people that have made an impact on my life.
Teachers taught me many things throughout high school: how to take good notes, what derivatives are, tedious conjugations of French verbs. Friends also taught me many things throughout high school: never wear crocs no matter the circumstance, ice cream cures almost everything, cherish every moment no matter how small. Some of these lessons will soon be forgotten, while others will help guide me through the path that is spread far in front of me.
Looking back on the beginning of high school makes me realize how much I have grown in these years. There were many ups and downs but at this moment, a few weeks from graduation, I’m content with where I have ended up.
It’s all almost surreal in a way. Graduation always seemed like a distant day that would never come. But here it is. It hasn’t all hit me yet though. I can’t believe I’ll be saying goodbye to my family, my friends, and my home in a few months.
I can’t even fathom to say those goodbyes yet so I’m not. Being the procrastinator that I am, I am going to wait until the last possible second to say goodbye to all of the people and places that have made me the person that I am today. I am going to cherish every moment left.
