Yesterday to add to the Hawks success this year, they beat Tim Thomas and the Boston Bruins 5-2. All five of the goals scored during the game were made by four different players. They were scored by Pat Kane, Andrew Ladd, Duncan Keith (2), and Tomas Kopecky.
The Hawks have been winning in style lately with help from a couple young players. One of which is rookie goaltender Antti Niemi. He was singed as a free agent in on May fith of 2008, but was recently pulled up this year. Niemi is having a great year for the hawks in between the pipes. His record is 11-3 and has 4 shut outs this year, one of which came against the power house Detroit Red Wings.
Another help would be rising star Patrick Kane. He’s leading the Hawks in three major offensive categories. He is leading the team with goals (19), game winning goals (5), shots on net (145), and an outstanding 33 assist. Kane has come through for the Hawks numerous times throughout the season. Kane is becoming a star, he is only 21 years old and has a long bright future ahead of him with the Blackhawks.
But its just the middle of the season. The Hawks have a long way to the 2010 playoffs. The long and journey to the Stanley Cup continues. Chicago fans will have to wait and see if the Hawks bring home and hoist the cup once again.
