Girls swimming takes second in first home meet

On Tuesday September 7th, the girls swim team competed in their first home swim meet. Although they did not place first, it was a positive start to their season. The team was lead by their captains, (seniors) Tori Burris and Amanda Gregus.

“This year our main goal is to win conference and send a few swimmers down state,” said Gregus.

In the team’s first home meet against OPRF and Glenbard West, the 200 yard free style relay placed third and the 200 yard medley placed fourth. Gregus, Burris, Ali Burke, and Ariel Moon made up the free style relay, while Kathleen Falk, Ali Burke, Megan Frey and Abby Louthen made up the medley relay.

To start off the season the team competed at Glen Brook South against Glenbrook and Homewood Flossmore. The team placed second.
