RBHS briefly evacuated due to fire scare
January 15, 2016
Friday, January 15, 2016 at roughly 12:15pm during period 4C, the fire alarms in Riverside Brookfield High School went off, alerting the faculty and students to exit the building. Clarion Staff reached out to administration and obtained an email sent to the families of RBHS students:
“Today at about 12:15, a refrigerator in the cafeteria overheated, causing an electrical issue. As a result, we had to evacuate the building as a precaution. The issue was contained and students were quickly brought back into the building upon getting clearance from the fire department,” wrote Kristin Smetana, RBHS principal.
The students returned to classes promptly after the evacuation.
