On September 19 the Riverside Brookfield High School Varsity soccer team played their Homecoming game against Glenbard South. They won the game with a last-minute goal by Kyle Paeth.

Paeth was a player on the freshman and sophomore soccer teams, and put in a lot of work to reach his goal of being on the Varsity soccer team.

“It feels great to know all the hard work I put in freshmen and sophomore year really paid off,” said Paeth.

At halftime the score was 0-0, and the RBHS Bulldogs were motivated to go back on the field and try to take the win.

“I wasn’t worried, I was confident in our squad to pull through and take the win,” said Paeth.

Paeth was proud in his teammates and their overall perseverance.

“My goal was just to win, it didn’t matter how we did, I just really wanted to win the game,” said Paeth.

Paeth scored within the last three minutes, ensuring the Bulldogs their win.

“I was in shock, it was like a dream come true I was happy to win the game for my team, but I couldn’t have done it without them,” said Paeth.

The team was relieved, and this win now moves their record to 5-4-3.

“I was super excited we won and I was really happy with how everyone played together, hopefully there is more success to come,” said Paeth.
