On December 9, the RBHS Math Team took second place in the Metro Suburban Conference math competition. It was a tight match, but RB’s team overall took second place.

“It’s our conference competition, so it consists of the conference schools. Everyone brings students to take a math test or there’s individual competitions where they basically sit and take a 20 question test,” said Melissa Gordon, Math Team coach and teacher at RB.

The competition took place this year at Illiana Christian High School. In the Algebra I team, Jack Jameson took eighth and Celeste Izaguirre took third place. Altogether, the Algebra I team took third place.

On the Geometry team, Danny Kawiecki took eight place while Grace DiBartolomeo and Claire Kawiecki tied for fifth. Will O’Brien took fourth and Josh Turner took second  place.  As a team, the Geometry team took first place.

On the Algebra II team, students Elise Wojack and Joe Kawiecki tied in ninth place while student Luka Malovic got fifth place. As a team, the Algebra two team took second place.

The Calculator team took third place. The freshman-sophomore team took second place.
