The school wide poetry contest was held Thursday, February 11, 2016, and the Regional contest at the Chicago Poetry Foundation will be held on Monday, February 22.


This year’s Riverside Brookfield High School Poetry Out Loud winner was freshman Alyssa Peralta, and the runner-up was freshman Emmanuel Garza.


The participants were Sylvia Garza, Jake Reed, Cali Carlson, Sam Chavez, Natalia Valenzuela, Matt Pelzek, Keara Gray, Gilius Aleksa, Amanda Enstrom, Collin Taylor, Brianna Quick, and Isabel Hughes.
Mr. Helgeson, Ms. Hayes, Ms. Sullivan, Mrs. Marsh, Ms. Harsy, Mrs. Johnson, and Mr. Dignan all had students from their classes participating.
