The WWE is essential

What is a sports enthusiast to do when all professional sports are CANCELED? There is no NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, all of the alphabet soup of sports is on hold or canceled- even the Olympics.

Wait, not all of them, there is the WWE.  The WWE has now been deemed an essential business. “We believe it is now more important than ever to provide people with a diversion from these hard times,” the WWE said in a statement to ESPN.

The Governor of Florida decided that the WWE should continue to broadcast their live television events in front of no audience.

The WWE is like a big family and they will do everything they can to make sure that they take precautions to help make sure that they do not spread the virus. They will be a bare-bones crew and any of the participants that would not like to participate due to underlying health conditions are not obligated to participate.

This comes at a good time for the WWE. According to Nielson data, the WWE has been on a decline for viewership since 2017 where they had about 3 million viewers to today they were down to 1.5 million. I am pretty sure that those numbers will return and possibly with some new viewers as well. Since this will be one of the only sporting events on tv at the time people won’t have the options they usually do when it comes to sports. So be sure to tune in to the WWE and “RAW”, “Smackdown”, and “NXT”.
