This year, I am especially thankful for choir. It was really difficult to make music as an ensemble last year, and we only got to sing all together a few times throughout all of last year. Now, I never take for granted the ability to make music with people in real time. There is nothing like the feeling you get when a chord locks into place for the first time– I always say I can feel the air vibrating around the room, connecting every person through a piece of beautiful music. I just think that’s so cool! And I am so lucky to have the opportunity to make music with such amazing people every day. The choir room has always felt like my second home, always brimming with people that I never tire of seeing. The music itself is reason enough to be thankful, but the people in the RB choir department really make singing in choir a truly marvelous experience.
