Coming out of a COVID-19 environment and going back into a semi-regular schedule made me realize that there are so many things I am thankful for. Of course, there’s the fact that I’m able to see friends in person again, but one thing I’m extremely thankful for is marching band. My freshman year, marching season was heavily augmented for our safety, and having a real experience with it made me realize everything it brought me. Not only has marching band been so fun when it comes to meeting others, but learning new music and getting to perform for a crowd is something that I really enjoy. Within the marching band, I am extremely thankful for all the students willing to help and especially for other people in my section who are kind and supportive. Without them, I would have been completely lost and would have fallen apart. The marching season of 2021 was so much fun, and I am so glad that I am able to experience it in full.
