Loving Yourself

Catherine Jasionowski, Staff Reporter

Everyone is told to love themselves at some point in their lives, and at times it can be difficult to do. With everything that happens in everyday life, all the stress and worries. It can be difficult to find time to sit back and love yourself. There are times when we all have to stop what we are doing and take time for ourselves.

These days everyone is busy with plenty of things they need to do. For students its, school, work, homework, and sports. For adults its work, bills, cook dinner, and taking care of the house. We live off of having things to do, that’s how the world is now, but there are some times when we all need to stop and take a break from everything. Even if it’s only for a short period of time.

There is always the option of just taking one night out of the weekend to sit around and do things that you enjoy doing. By stepping away from everyday life and the stress of everyday life, it will show that you care about yourself. That you take time out of your busy day to do something for yourself. Just sit around and watch a movie while eating ice cream or pop corn. Even going to bed earlier would help you, just because you would be getting more sleep then you normally do.

However you don’t just have to stay home. One night you could go out with your friends and have a night out on the town, go see a movie or go out to dinner. Even going to the mall and window shopping, or going on a shopping spree for that matter. Just don’t go overboard on anything.

What you do isn’t what matters, it’s that fact that you actually stop doing what you would normally do and take some time for yourself. We all need to make time to relax, just not everyone does, and that needs to change. So the next time you feel stressed and/or over worked, take some time to step away from it all and give yourself some much needed attention. In the long run it would be worth it, and it will help you too make sure you take more time for yourself in the future.
