A sixth place finished and a great performance by Austin Adamec marked the end to the boys’ golf season.

“We finished up pretty good, better then where we were last year,” senior Patrick Towner said.

Towner and Adamec, Jack Robling, and several others helped the gold team to place sixth overall out of 14 teams in the IHSA Conference Tournament.  Adamec took the main spotlight shooting a 67 in the tournament. Michael Gruber and Aleks Pennaharra also qualified for the sectional tournament. Barely missing state by one stroke, Adamec shot a personal best of a 66.

Coach Larry Rocco said, “Austin closed a great career at Riverside-Brookfield and helped us gain a lot of respect for our Boys’ Golf Program.”  Overall it was a very productive and successful season  for the Bulldogs.

For the future, the team does not plan to lose any momentum.  Robling, Chris Detloff, and Gruber are expected to lead the team next year.
