On May 5, 2020, RBHS Principal, Dr. Freytas, announced the school’s official plans for the Class of 2020’s Commencement Ceremony. The original commencement was to take place on Friday, May 22, 2020, in the Main Gym, but due to the COVID-19 situation, it had to be cancelled. Now, the event will be on Friday, May 29, 2020, online. The ceremony will be live-streamed on RBTV’s Youtube page (www.youtube.com/myRBTV) at 6:30 pm.

RBHS also plans on holding a “Condensed, In-Person Graduation Ceremony,” on June 29, 2020, but that is only if, by June 26, 2020, Illinois lifts their large-group gatherings restrictions.

The event will take place at the Kennelly Athletic Complex (football field.) Each graduate will receive only two tickets for the event and it will be streamed on RBT’s Youtube page for those who can’t attend. Their rain date for the event is June 30, 2020.

Seniors will receive their tickets on May 19, 2020, at their cap and gown drive-thru pick up. Pick up will take place in the staff parking lot and will be split up by last names to reduce the number of people there at a time.

All of the other final ceremonies and celebrations have been scheduled to be online, the Senior Awards ceremony will be posted May 12, 2020,  the Local Scholarship Night video will be posted May 15, 2020, and the Apollo Awards will be streamed on May 14, 2020, at 7 pm.

As for recognizing spring senior athletes, RBHS will release more information on that soon, but the days are May 15 & 16, 2020.
