Emma Lopez, Story Editor
Emma Lopez is a sophomore at Riverside Brookfield High School with big dreams stemming from STEM. She aspires to work in a field that intersects the three subjects that make her whole: computer science, journalism, and fashion. Outside of Clarion, Emma is involved in Girls Who Code, Robotics, Fashion Club, Spanish Club, and Helping Paws. This year, Emma is a Copy Editor for Clarion. It’s her first year in an editorial position, so she hopes to learn more about how an active newspaper works and develop skills she can use beyond high school. Being one of the few girls in her computer science class, Emma is passionate about closing the gender gap and women’s rights. Outside of school, she researches women’s stories and publishes her findings at iFeminist, and she manages the research committee at Learnology. Overall, Emma wants to pursue a career surrounded by computer science, journalism, and fashion, and she hopes to achieve that in the long run.
