My Chemical Romance returns

My Chemical Romance (MCR) is a rock band that originated in Newark, New Jersey around 2001. The members include lead vocalist Gerard Way, guitarists Ray Toro and Frank Lero, and bassist Mikey Way.

On March 22, 2013, after twelve years of playing together, MCR announced they were breaking up. This devastated their fan group (known as the Killjoys), but everyone still held on to some hope that the band might reunite one day in the future. This hope led to conspiracy theories about the band and outright rumors that were proven false by the band members themselves.

Just when people were starting to give up hope of the band getting back together, on October 31, 2019, the band announced that they were going to be getting together to play a show in LA, California on December 20, 2019. When the tickets went on sale, they sold out in around three hours, and it was safe to say everyone was extremely excited about MCR getting back together.

Even though everyone seemed to be happy about MCR finally getting back together, some people worried that they were only getting back together for one more show to celebrate the fifteenth year anniversary of their album, “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”, but soon after the announcement of their reunion in California, MCR announced they were doing four more shows in Australia (Melbourne and Sydney), Auckland (New Zealand) and in Tokyo (Japan). In addition to all these new tour dates, MCR even released new merch on their website.

Frank Lero hinted to their reunion on his Instagram account by captioning one of his pictures, “it’s reported that it’s going to rain in new jersey tomorrow, washing out all halloween festivities… guess we’re gonna have to find something else to do.”
