On November 11, 2012, over eighty veterans attended the annual RBHS Veterans Day Assembly, a tradition begun by former Social Studies Department Chair Bill Jirkovsky and carried on by current Social Studies teacher John Fields. After a whole school assembly honoring the vets, students went to individual classrooms with their teachers to hear different vets tell their personal stories.

Hal Burke, who served in the United States Navy, was one of those stories.
